We’re all wondering what 2024 will bring, and of course the future is always uncertain, but right now many of the indicators are in the green. The economy defied more than a few expectations in the third quarter of 2023 when gross domestic product grew 4.9 percent (annualized). Inflation continues to fall and is getting closer to an acceptable rate, around 2 percent. Also, the number of job openings has been falling since early 2022. It’s getting closer to the pre-pandemic level, and as it falls, it eases the upward pressure on wages. A point of concern is the PMI, which dropped below 50 in November, but the end of the auto industry labor strike will probably turn this around.

One thing that is certain is that tube producers, pipe producers, and rollformers will need regrinds for tooling and repairs or upgrades for equipment, and many might even be in the market for new purchases. So whether you need a few weld rolls spruced up or an entirely new mill or machine, or anything in between—including repairs to equipment built by other manufacturers—T&H Lemont is ready to quote.
