T&H Lemont salutes the brave members of the United States Coast Guard on their service’s birthday, August 4. Founded in 1790 for customs enforcement, its roles and duties have expanded since then and now include search and rescue, maritime security, and law enforcement. And it doesn’t just protect U.S. coasts. It has served in every major conflict since it was founded, including the most dangerous of missions such as the D-Day landings. Members of the USCG have also served in Vietnam, Iraq, and many other places where U.S. servicemembers have been in harm’s way.
Hats off to all the courageous servicemembers of the United States Coast Guard, past and present.
